is my favorite online source for trans stuff - I've ordered from them for years now, service is prompt and the prices are reasonable. As long as they mic out okay and haven't suffered abuse they are reusable. The Red Alto pieces are terrific in a race transmission but again, this isn't a trans that you will be tearing down every season and that's where the Altos sort of payoff in the long run. The kolene steels really wouldn't be worth the extra expense. Thanks guys and hope to hear from you all.įor the likes of what you are describing I would go with the Raybestos brand clutch material and stock replacement steels. I read that some type are better then others and can anyone shed me some light on what would be the best for mainly a street cruiser but also that will hold up and give many miles for the years to come. I know they have stock steel and paper clutches which would not be enough for my build and I know they have those tan looking frictions called raysbetos and then I read about the blue alto eagle type and then the most expensive brand the red alto eagle frictions and kollene steels. I already know of some pieces to help make a turbo 350 stronger such as a hardened sprag etc but I am looking for a kit overhaul that will do the job without having spend what is more then necessary. I have already assisted my Father put one together the other week and I know of different clucth and friction materials and I am wondering what is the best kit to get for a motor making under 500 horsepower and for something that will never see the track but just the occasional burnout etc. Hello guys I just bought a used turbo 350 transmission non lock up version and i am eventually looking to get a rebuild kit for it and do my first ever transmission rebuild.
